This lovely light, spacious house is in a quiet part of this active village. Built in the 1970’s, it has many picture windows which, because of it’s position on a hill, look out over the top of the village towards the Tor and open countryside.
The owners have done extensive work since they bought it in 2009, turning it into a contemporary home which suits modern-day living. There is a wonderful extension on the rear which provides a particularly large kitchen/breakfast room with doors leading out onto timber decking. All mod cons are in the kitchen including 2 dishwashers, an integrated fridge/freezer, a range cooker and a wine fridge. Adjacent to the kitchen is a good-sized utility room. Travertine tiles and wood floors are throughout the ground floor and in the sitting room is a log burner
Upstairs, there are 3 large bedrooms, including a master en suite plus a family bathroom with a bath and shower. Going from the spacious, light landing with a lovely picture window on to the 2nd floor there are 2 further bedrooms, one en suite. The views to the front of the house get better and better the further up you go!
The houses in Neville Park benefit from a quiet location and number 5 is particularly secluded having a large front garden with a parking area for several cars and there is access to the double garage. The front garden is laid mainly to lawn with mature trees, and shrubs.
To the rear of the property the kitchen leads out onto a decked area which connects to a good area of lawn which is all fenced in with views and a feeling of privacy provided by some beautiful mature trees in the neighbouring property. It has sun throughout the day.
Neville Park is a small secluded close in the village of Baltonsborough. This is a sought-after village as it has better facilities than many local villages, including a parish church, Farm Shop with Post Office, popular public house which has a visiting Fish and Chip van on Thursday night which regularly brings the villagers together, and a primary school and active village hall. The village is well known locally for its excellent summer fair which brings people in from all the other villages.
Other nearby schools include Millfield Senior and Prep Schools, both within about 10 minutes' drive, Kings School Bruton, Wells Cathedral School, Downside, All Hallows, St Dunstans School Glastonbury, Strode Sixth Form College in Street, Sexey’s School Bruton (state boarding), Ansford School at Castle Cary and Wells Blue School.
As wells as the excellent village shop, 5 Neville Close also has easy access to Street and Glastonbury where all local facilities, such as independent shops and chain stores, supermarkets, Doctors surgeries, dentists and a minor injuries hospital can be found, plus in Street there is the renown Clarks Village outlet.
Glastonbury 5 miles. Street 6 miles. Castle Cary 9 miles with a mainline rail service (Paddington 110 minutes) Yeovil 13 miles. A303 is 8 miles. There is a mainline rail service from Castle Cary to London Paddington taking 110 minutes. It is a 30-minute drive to Templecombe station which is 120 minutes into Waterloo.
