Derwent is a gem of a detached property situated in a quiet road in this outstanding location, just one mile from the fashionable town of Bruton. This stylish, contemporary home has been recently renovated by the current owners and is presented in immaculate order with a brand new kitchen, downstairs loo and ensuite bathroom. This sizeable extension blends seamlessly with the original layout.
From the solid oak front door, the main hallway leads into a wonderful kitchen/diner with dramatic floor to ceiling glass doors overlooking the west-facing garden. These oak framed doors stack back to fully open, allowing a seamless space between the room and the garden. There is a fabulous area to cook and entertain with enough room to sit and relax. The kitchen units have been tastefully chosen to reflect modern living - integrated appliances mingle with traditional tongue and groove panelling and oak flooring underfoot. A separate utility room ensures that white goods are hidden away in a functional space that leads directly outside - useful for dogs and walking boots! A generous sitting room overlooks the front of the property, the focal point being an open fireplace with a controllable vent. Two double bedrooms are positioned next to a large and beautifully presented family bathroom. The master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, has patio doors overlooking the pretty garden that bustles with wildlife in an ever-changing vista of mature trees and shrubs. The views of the surrounding countryside are wonderful.
The property is accessed via a wooden five bar gate and a large driveway provides parking for numerous cars. Mature hedging shields the property from the road and further planting down the side of the driveway leads to a large double garage which could easily be converted into a separate dwelling or an outdoor office. The back garden is accessed from the driveway or alternatively from the kitchen/diner. A fabulous decked area that stretches along the entire property, provides a fabulous space to sit and relax and to dine alfresco on a summers evening. Pretty stone steps lead down into an unusually large garden which runs for approximately 50 metres to a mature vegetable patch. Apple trees, plum trees, raspberry and blackcurrant bushes offer their annual yield of fruit.
