Surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside this village is approximately 8 miles from the fashionable market town of Frome, one of the South West's leading market towns. Frome has become a "foodie hipster haven" due to the influx of young families, with St Catherine's Hill at the centre of the artisan quarter. The town has a comprehensive choice of retail outlets and all the usual amenities. Within close proximity too is Bruton, now well known for the award winning “At the Chapel” restaurant and nearby too is the Hauser & Wirth gallery as well as Babington House private members club (Soho House’s country mansion). Other recreational pursuits such as golf, racing, shooting and fishing are catered for within easy distance. The cities of Bath and Bristol plus the small city of Wells offer extensive leisure educational and cultural facilities. In terms of transport links, both Castle Cary and Bath have mainline stations with direct trains to London Paddington (travel time less than 2 hrs) and the A303 just 14 miles away provides road links to the M3, north and south. 


All Hallows prep school is just over a mile away.The secondary state schools are excellent, Wells Blue School and Writhlington School are close by as well as independent schools including Wells Cathedral, Millfield, Downside as well as  Kings Bruton and Bruton school for girls and several more choices in and around Bath.
