It is also close to the historic village of Mells and the award winning 14th Century Talbot Inn. Further to the East is Frome, one of the county’s most fashionable market towns and recently featured in the Sunday Times as the best place to live in Somerset. The town has a comprehen-sive choice of retail outlets and all the usual amenities. Founded in 2013, the “Frome Independ-ent” is an award-winning independent street market that is held on the first Sunday of every month and attracts 80,000 people a year. Equally fashionable Bruton lies approximately 12 miles to the South with its famous Hauser And Wirth Art Gallery and Roth Bar.



Local schools are excellent and include All Hallows and Downside, and Prior Park, Monkton Combe and King Edwards in Bath as well as Writhlington School near Radstock. 



Transport links are excellent - Bristol Airport is easily accessible and Heathrow Airport can be reached by the M4 and is about 80 miles away. London is easily accessible via British Rail from Bath Spa station, with journey times to London Paddington taking approximately 86 minutes.

From Bath, head South on the A367 until reaching Radstock – At the first roundabout, turn left onto Frome Road. Almost immediately and at the next roundabout take the first exit and continue on Frome Road. After approx. 300m, turn right onto Mells Lane until reaching Writhlington School – turn right and the driveway to Huish House is on your left.
