The current owner has used this space as a ceramics studio for many years, and from where he has hosted many exhibitions. More significantly it provides access for maintenance to the east elevation of Two Steps Cottage.



Situation

South Petherton has so many advantages, particularly with its comprehensive range of independent shops for everyday needs. The honey-hued Ham-stone architecture is a delight of the region, and South Petherton has an abundance. The South Somerset countryside is stunning and can be enjoyed from the vast network of footpaths all around the village. Road and rail connections are also excellent. At the centre of South Petherton is the Market Square and the village hall which hosts events, meetings and classes. South Petherton has infants’ and junior schools - both rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Independent schools nearby include Perrot Hill, Hazlegrove and Millfield prep’ schools, and an excellent choice of state and private schools are within easy reach in Taunton, Sherborne and Bruton.

From the A303 South Petherton roundabout, proceed along Hayes End. At the second mini-roundabout take a left turn into Harvey’s Road. This leads directly into the main high street - St. James’s Street - where you will pass various shops. Take the first left turn which leads up a short slope into Market Square (SatNav TA13 5BT). Parking is available in the square. George Lane is a footpath from Market Square - just to the left hand side of Boots - and Two Steps Cottage is immediately behind, on the right hand side, accessed through a black gate.
