Northfields is an attractive and spacious family house with a separate one bedroom cottage located in the sought after village of Baltonsborough.

Having been extensively renovated and remodelled over time the house now flows extremely well and lends itself to entertaining. The kitchen is extremely well fitted complete with an island, Jura Limestone work surfaces, space for an American fridge/freezer, large gas range, tiled floor and partly glazed door out to the garden and cottage.

Off the kitchen is the dining room which in a former iteration used to be the entrance hall, the original front door still exists behind a concealed door, at the far end of the dining room is the library/study which has three walls of bookshelves, cornice and fireplace.

Double glazed doors from the dining room open up into the hallway, where there is a cloakroom and a clever storage solution for coats and shoes built in under the stairs. On the far side of the hall is the sitting room, a well-proportioned room with double folding doors from the hall and French doors out to the garden. By opening the double doors from the dining room and sitting room it incorporates the hall and creates a fabulous and large entertaining space. In addition, there is also a snug for those quiet moments.

The wide and light stair case leads to the galleried first floor. There are five large double bedrooms, two are en suite and the remaining three served by the recently fitted large family bathroom with walk-in shower. The master bedroom is well designed, very light with double sash windows and has the luxury of a large dressing room. There are fabulous views over the gardens and fields towards Glastonbury Tor.

Outside there is a shingle clad double garage and log store along with an attached games room which could double up as a party room, gym or a spacious office. Across from the garage is a pretty two storey one bedroom cottage that has recently been re-furbished in a simple contemporary style and is currently a successful long term rental but could also provide fantastic accommodation for an elderly relative. Downstairs is a large open plan split level room with the kitchen and dining area one end and the cosy sitting room with the log burner at the other. There is a modern bathroom with walk in shower also on the ground floor. Upstairs there are French windows off the double bedroom which open out onto a decked balcony where you can watch the sun set over Glastonbury Tor.

The land is just over 4 acres and is made up a good sized garden with flower beds, productive vegetable garden and a small orchard, planted with thousands of spring bulbs. The rest of the land consists of two fields which is currently rented by a local farmer for grazing but would be perfect for a family with horses or perhaps other livestock.

Baltonsborough is a lively and popular village in the heart of Somerset. The Greyhound Inn is within strolling distance, a Fish & Chip van arrives every Thursday, you can either order in advance or have a drink while you wait. Or on a Friday evening you will find a "Pop up" Pizza Oven outside the village hall. Baltonsborough also has a good primary school and a Grade 1 listed local church. Fabulous walking can be found in the extensive network of droves as well as down by the river. Further shopping can be found in nearby Street (with its famous Outlet stores at Clarks Village), the market town of Somerton and the historic city of Wells and Bruton just a short drive away. Local attractions include the Glastonbury Festival, the Kingweston Golf Club and several good local pubs and restaurants. Bath and Bristol are both about an hour’s drive to the North. Millfield Senior and Prep Schools are both within a 10 minute drive of the house, there are other local independent schools locally including Wells Cathedral. There are excellent local schools including the well respected Strode College, Crispin School, Brookside Academy and The Blue School in Wells.
Local transport links are excellent with a mainline railway station in nearby Castle Cary, which is a 15 minute drive, offering direct services to London and the South West. The A37 and A303 offer good road links to London and the M5.
